In the city I’m a short girl. I can’t reach the top shelf of the cabinets, I need a step stool to work the top oven in the kitchen. When I sit in a chair my feet likely don’t hit the floor.
But in the forest I’m just as tall as I need to be. My feet are just the right size for the trail. The treetops sway above me and life is all around me. My stride is long and my head is high. I tower with the trees and I flutter with the butterflies. I float with the clouds, soar with the birds and gaze at the infinite.
I’m not the tallest thing in the forest, but I am as tall as I need to be.
