Drove Rick’s truck to New Mexico. Lunch in Ruidoso, an overnight backpack through an austere burned forest and camping in a windy valley. Ziplining at Ski Apache the next morning, then drove to Upper Bonito Dispersed Camping in White Mountain Wilderness. Rendezvoused there with a group from Austin for car camping and day hiking in Argentina, Skull and Turkey Canyons. When the Austin group left we drove down to Carlsbad Caverns before the long drive home.
